State of the blog: August 8, 2008

This is an obvious thing to point out, but I've been tinkering with the layout of the blog for a few days now, and I think I've finally found a color scheme that I like. It's easy, simple, and neutral. The only downside is, I can't use the header that Travis made for me anymore, because the white background of it sticks out like a sore thumb among the gray.

As you can tell from the last post, I added another writer. His name is Nello (duh), and he's a friend of mine. He'll be writing every now and then, mostly about movies and other forms of cinema. Now that I have three writers, I think I may be finished with adding them. I was thinking about adding another, my friend Austin, but I'm not sure how interested he is.

Anna's interview with Lirix was very kindly linked to in a blog on his Myspace. I love it when interviewees do things like that, it's just really nice.

One of my favorite blogs ever, Neatorama, has ripped off my idea for this sort of post. I'd like to pass it off as a mere coincidence, but I've submitted this blog to be reviewed by them three times now, so it's a bit suspicious. Oh well, I suppose. Not much I can do about it, besides whine about it like this.

I had a great birthday. Thanks to everyone who contacted me in any way to express their sentiments. Expect a few write-ups on some of the gifts/things I got with gift money soon (Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job! Season 1 DVD, anyone?).

I'm thinking about starting a monthly post where I'd eat one specific thing all day for one day, and tell people about the experience. The first one I thought of was drinking/eating nothing but Arizona Iced Tea for 24 hours, and keeping a log about it. Would that interest anyone? Now that I type it out, it seems kinda dumb. Let me know what you all think.

As usual, if anyone has anything they want me to write about, do, or anything else, let me know.

Nah, I like the food idea. But I'd want it to make you like piss green for a week though, you know what I mean? Something drastic.

Do it. Do it. DO IT. Well, think about it.
