State of the blog: July 17, 2008

The final installation of my "horribly-difficult-to-orchestrate-weeklong-band-blog-post-collection" is being posted tomorrow morning at 11 AM. This fifth band is the one out of all five that I have listened to for the longest time, and it's pretty grand to be able to talk to them like this. On Saturday, I'll be posting a download link to all five songs, with a bonus album cover by the lovely Kate. The bands will be on the album in the order they appeared on the blog.

I have the next week or so mapped out as far as writing goes. I have the first 15 pages of my notebook filled with ideas, so there is no shortage there. But if you think of something you want me to write about, let me know! Some of my ideas are crappy, and I'm sure most of you could come up with some better ones.

I'm starting to have Kate do a headlining picture for every single article. They are simple, but effective. She kinda cheated with this one though. It's a seal, with a seal. Get it?!?

I may employ another writer to write for the blog, my friend Danny. He and I will go head-to-head on some issues, and he'll post some original writings of his own. It's still in the infant stages, so expect more news on this in the next month or so.

I was talking to Kate last night about maybe doing a weekly comic on here as well. It would either be like an average newspaper comic (single-comic stories and jokes), or a story type of comic (think actual comic books, but over a few months). The story type one would be of a story I came up with back in May, about a demon named Quincy. Kate would be illustrating, I'd be writing. If any of you would be interested in that, let me know.

I decided that all of my "weekly" posts (Saturday Morning Interview, childhood memories, etc.) will only be updated if I actually have content for it. For instance, I have no interview planned for this Saturday at the moment (unless one of my "clients" responds), so I obviously won't write one this Saturday. Easy, right?

Finally, I ask you all a very big favor. I need publicity. Post links to this blog anywhere, please. I invest a lot of time into this, and don't get paid (clearly), so I like to consider mass readership my form of payment. Sure, it can't buy me a car, but it warms my heart and makes me enthusiastic about what I do. So again, post links, buttons, or giant fucking banners anywhere. Think of it as a Fight Club-esque "homework assignment," but instead of not talking about it, talk about it as much as possible.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go have my skull fucked out of my head via my nostrils by The Dark Knight.
